Blue Room

I've been thinking a lot lately of my beautiful Grandmothers. They were so calm and graceful.  Their words so thought out, so caring.  I had the pleasure of staying over at my Grandfather Call's house a few weeks ago and rested in the "Blue Room".  My Grandmother Call sure made this room a magical place.  It always felt magical when I was in the presence of my Grandmother Call and Grandmother Chavez. Oh how important it is to know where you came from.  I'm so thankful for my parents, grandparents, my amazing ancestors. So thankful knowing that if they can do hard things, so can I.

What comes from the heart, speaks to the heart

So last year my mantra had been “she took a deep breath and let it go” Apparently Disney's Elsa thought it would aid her concentration in meditation as well. The year before that, it was “The Happiness Project” and this year “Life's a Journey”. As I find myself pondering what 2015 will bring, I keep reflecting on these past few years I have spent out West and am overwhelmed with how much things have changed. How much I have changed. Then I consider that perhaps things haven't changed at all but I've unexpectedly learned to look at them differently. Perhaps I haven't necessarily changed either but have finally found the me that had existed from the beginning that somehow went adrift. I can't describe the feelings in my heart when I left my beloved VA/DC and the part of me that remained there. If it wasn't for my Papa Bear and baby brother coming to scoop me up, I don't think I would have been brave enough to leave. “Brave enough to break my own heart”. Or maybe I would have found the strength but I am certain I would still be in Nebraska somewhere, lost without those two. What once felt like I was no longer in one piece now feels more like a process somewhat closer to a completion. I don't ever want to take for granted feeling the breeze on my face again or in this Logan Winter case, the frostbite on my face. Life is sweet and people are beautiful. I leave tomorrow to spend Thanksgiving with some of my most favorite people. I'm thankful I'm close enough to make it to home sweet home for Thanksgiving. I'm thankful for a precious friend Heavenly Father knew I needed to live three houses down from, for cute boys who treat me well, good friends that feel like family and a c
ozy little house. I'm thankful for the combination of hot cocoa, french vanilla cream and marshmallows.

I'm thankful for the Temple, which is truly Heaven on Earth, my Papa Bear, Cute Little Mama, amazing siblings and seriously the cutest nieces and nephews on earth.

Happiest of Thanksgivings, Come what may and love it 2015.
